Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift…that is why they call it the present….

Erik Aeder is a widely respected and award winning ocean sports photographer,  capturing images of the ocean lifestyle and its surroundings since 1970.   He lives on the island of Maui, Hawaii in between travels on assignments to many exotic destinations around the world.  His photography captures views of the water world around him, above and below the surface.  Erik’s unique perspective has been seen internationally in publications such as Time, Playboy, Outside, Men’s Journal, National Geographic Adventure and he is a senior photographer at Surfer and Windsurfing magazines.

Tropical palms lit by warm sunset light and huge golden waves, cresting in the Hawaiian sunset are a captivating view, while round grains of sand mixed with bits of coral and shell lying at our feet give a comfortable sensation of natures art. For the past decade Erik has been creating his series of  photographs “Bodies of Water”. These images integrate the grace and curves of the female form with flow and color beneath clear breaking waves which captures a never before seen combination of mother ocean and feminine grace.

Erik is inspired and motivated by the vibrancy and idyllic beauty of the ocean world which lends itself as the perfect studio for him to capture his view of movement, texture, dynamics and color. His travels have taken him to many exotic islands such as Nias,  Easter Island , Phonpei, as well as travels throughout Europe, South America, Australia and beyond.

Erik is constantly seeking new locations and techniques to display the diversity of this water planet and its fringe world where the three elements, land, water and air, meet to form an extraordinary interaction.
